Nissan's Infiniti line-up lacks the caliber of Lexus and Acura, but the
Infiniti G35 sports coupe has sleek lines, a bit like the highly successful 350Z. It's a spacious sports coupe, with a 0-60 time of 6 seconds. This makes it a pretty fast coupe, almost a sports car, except for that fairly large body. Nissan also limits the G35 to 142 mph (230 km/h), in the interests of its respectability.
As it has rear-wheel drive it has the potential to produce sporty handling - like the 350Z sports car. In this respect, Nissan is on the right track, mainly because it used to have several different front-engine rear-drive sedans on offer in Japan. Boring as they were, their platforms could be used for more sporty cars, like this Infiniti G35 – now superseded by the much faster G37.
Sports coupe with V-6 engine
The Infiniti G35 sports coupe has Nissan's biggest V-6 engine - the 3.5 liter twin overhead cam 24 valve mill, which has been modified to give 280 bhp at 6,000 rpm with 260 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. Most buyers of this sports coupe opt for the five-speed, electronically controlled automatic transmission with manual shift mode; it's capable of 19/24 mpg. More enthusiastic drivers can get the six-speed manual option.
Fast car with flash, inside and out
Nissan came up with a new front grille for the Infinity coupe, which is a slightly more rounded version of the G35 sedan’s. The headlights are similar in style, although more swept back and edgy. The overall appearance of this sports coupe is a bit more refined and smooth.
At the rear, the taillights are squished and feature a somewhat circular pattern. The sleek trunk design helps to add a sophisticated look to this sports coupe, while the dual exhaust adds to the sleek design.
If your looking for power, this fast car has what your crave. The powerful V6 engine will get you take off from the starting line quickly. This sports coupe may lack the sheer torque of a big American V-8, but it is fast and turns heads. The top speed would be over 150 mph, but is limited to the odd speed of 142 mph.
At a starting price of $29,600, the Infiniti G35 sports coupe is very affordable - just a bit more than the front-drive Altima 3.5SE, which has a similar engine with 35 less bhp. It offers you a lot in terms of speed, performance, and handling, at a price that won’t break your bank.
