Muscle cars – these are really fast cars but not supercars. They can be of various body styles, such as hot hatches, hot sedans and coupes. Some come from the factory as muscle cars, but others start life as a simple hatchback or run-of-the-mill sedan, and are turned into a muscle car by an ace engine tuner.
This is where you will find:
-
Muscle cars like the Firebird Trans Am WS61 and Chrysler 300C SRT-8
-
Hot hatches like the Ford Focus ST and Volkswagen Golf GTI
-
Hot sedans and coupes like the Jaguar XF and BMW 650i
-
Top tuners like BMW M Center, Hamann and Lingenfelter
Below are most of the interesting muscle cars that have been introduced over the past few years – some American, some European and some Japanese.
There are also a few oldies.
We will be adding more regularly, and as usual we will include information about the car, the technical specification and plenty of photos.
Small muscle cars - hot hatches -
In fact, some of these muscle cars are very small – we usually refer to these as hot hatches – and they have a lot more muscle than run-of-the-mill hatchbacks.
- or big muscle cars
Of course, a big V-8 muscle car makes the standard car look scrawny as well.
Most important, you also get an unbiased view of what is good about the car and what is not. Quite a few we have driven, and you can find those by just looking for 'Road Test' in the latest list of muscle cars below.
The range will become wider than in the days when these cars were on Fast-Autos, and we already have one quite small hot hatch and a large muscle car lined up for you.
If there are other cars you would like us to write about, please let us know. Also, when you are thinking of buying a muscle car or hot hatch – or even a coupe that does not qualify as a supercar – just ask us and we will give you expert advice.
